The heat transfer from the enclosure inner to the environment, or vice versa, is determined in part by the thermal conductivity of the housing or enclosure panels.Practical tests have also revealed significant differences in conductivity between common housing materials in the case of thinner panels.
The selection of a particular material for the housings, however, is not made dependent on the thermal characteristics, but rather on mechanical stability and on resistance to corrosion. |
