Rittal Online Seminar – System climate basics

Condensation can be avoided by installing heating systems which maintain the enclosure inside temperature at a level approx. 10 K above the ambient temperature. Another solution is ventilation, which ensures equal temperatures and relative humidities in both the inside and ambient air.

Where cooling units and air/water heat exchangers are used, the condensation water must be removed by means of suitable collection channels and drain points to avoid any impairment of the modules in the enclosure.
To minimise condensation formation:

  • Enclosure meeting at least protection category IP 54
  • The target inside temperature should be as close as possible to the maximum ambient temperature
  • The climate control unit should be switched off when the housing is opened.
