The material plays an - often overestimated - role for the natural heating or cooling of a housing.
A statement on the heat dissipation/absorption can be made by calculating the heat transfer coefficient.

It is revealed that the heat transfer at the interfaces between the housing panel and the air has a greater influence on the k-value in the case of lesser material thicknesses.

The movement of the air at these interfaces also plays an important role (still air: less heat dissipation/ absorption than in moving air).
