Cooling units

Rittal Online Seminar – System climate basics

The heat generated in the enclosure is transferred from the enclosure inside air to the liquid coolant in the closed coolant circuit of the cooling unit, causing this coolant to evaporate.
Upon subsequent compression, the hot gaseous coolant transfers the heat in turn to the ambient air in the condenser. The coolant becomes liquid once more and can be sprayed back into the evaporator via an expansion valve.

The inside-air and ambient-air flows are hermetically separated from each other and are controlled by separate fans.

Microcontrollers are fitted into the cooling units to monitor their proper functioning.
