The CE symbol serves as confirmation of the conformity of a product with all EC directives applicable to that product. It is a declaration to the supervisory authorities in the EU member countries - not to the final user/consumer (it could be seen as a kind of passport for the products within the territory of the EU). It is not a mark of quality. Plant and networks - together with a few other exceptions - do not need a CE symbol.
The affixing of a CE symbol lies within the sole responsibility of the manufacturer. |
