Thanks to its particular efforts in environmental protection, especially in effluent-free painting technologies, and the introduction of management systems in accordance with DIN EN ISO14001 and the EU directive 1836/93, Rittal was granted membership of the Hessen Environment Alliance on 24 May 2000. Rittal is thus one of the 124 founding members. The environment alliance is a joint initiative of the state government and representatives of industry in Hessen. Through joint activities it is aimed to improve environmental protection and at the same time to relieve the enterprises of administrative duties and bureaucracy.
"More environmental protection - less central intervention" is the motto. Membership is open only to those enterprises which have implemented, or undertake to implement outstanding environmental protection measures.
