Rittal "The System" Faster - better - worldwide at the DRIVES & CONTROLS EXHIBITION
At the recent Drives
and Controls exhibition held at the NEC,
Birmingham from the 8th - 10th June we exhibited
for the first time in the UK a fully working
example of 'The System' on our stand. We also
took the opportunity to site the exhibition bus
inside the exhibition hall next to the
restaurant - a prime location. This gave Rittal
a striking presence in the show and made 'The
System' unmissable and a major point of interest
to the visitors.
The result - a 400% increase in sales leads taken against our exhibition average (and some very glum faces from our competitors) John Wilkins - Marketing Services Manager

Need more protection from EMC than you first imagined? Have you ever designed a piece of kit which let you down, by being susceptible to EMC, when you didn’t think it ought to be? If you use the Ripac Vario subrack for mounting multiple board electronic solutions in 19” (482.6mm) racks, range can easily be upgraded from standard to EMC after it has been completed. This will provide over 40dB of shielding effectiveness at 1GHz, both for incoming and outgoing protection. The upgrade simply requires top and bottom covers, a rear panel, and a few gaskets to ensure good electrical and mechanical contact between adjacent surfaces. These components are readily available from stock and we have a 20 strong sales team who can help you with the selection. Of course if you want to ensure full protection from the beginning, the Ripac Vario EMC subracks are also available on short leadtimes, along with EMC front and rear panels and a wide range of useful accessories. The graph shows the difference between unshielded subracks (black line) and shielded (red line).

Don’t leave your electronics in a sealed cabinet this summer Unless it has a Rittal cooling solution installed on it for climate control. We have introduced a range of cooling units specifically designed for outdoor enclosure applications. If you want your (electronic) kit to remain useful for longer when situated out of doors, then treat it like you would your pet, and give it some air! Any outdoor enclosure will suffer from Solar Gain on those long, hot summer days (well, we can all hope, can’t we?) and, as a result, the internal temperature may rise well above the ambient. It is well known that for most electronics life expectancy falls dramatically with a temperature increase above 30-35 Celcius, so to seal it in an outdoor cabinet will effectively cook it unless there are some simple measures taken to both remove any generated heat, and reduce or eliminate the effect of the sun. Our standard outdoor enclosures have twin walls, separated by a 25mm air gap, which provides a suitable home for sensitive equipment, all featured in the CS Outdoor enclosure selector. In addition, we are able to supply either built into the cabinet, or as separate “after-market” items, a range of air conditioning units which maintain the IP55 rating of the enclosure. Designs specifically for use in roof mounting, side wall, rear panel or door mounting applications are available, with cooling capacities ranging between 750W and 1750W and providing from 570m3/hour of cooling air through to over 1000m3/hour to cater for a wide range of circumstances.
